Abstract
Law enforcement agencies are directly involved in every aspect of the terrorism response continuum. They have the responsibility of crisis management and consequence management. Law enforcement is typically the first agency to respond to a terrorism incident and the last to leave. Law enforcement officers and agencies are presented with an array of challenges when faced with terrorism and tactical violence incidents. This field guide provides the necessary basic information for officers when combating violence. It begins with the basics of the Incident Management Systems and response procedures for terrorism and tactical violence incidents. The guide provides information on weapons of mass effect and include: chemical, biological, radiological, cyber, and explosives terrorism. The guide concludes with information on mass casualty decontamination and crime scene operations. Quick references are included and range from the law enforcement IMS chart to ATF vehicle bomb explosion hazard and evacuation distance tables. Acronyms and glossary
