Abstract
THE AGENCY ADMINISTERS THE STATE'S PAROLE AND MANDATORY SUPERVISION SYSTEMS AND MAKES INVESTIGATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS WITH REGARD TO EXECUTIVE CLEMENCY. MANDATORY SUPERVISION REFERS TO A STATUTE PROVIDING FOR A PERIOD OF POSTPRISON SUPERVISION FOR RELEASEES OTHER THAN PAROLEES AND PERSONS RELEASED UNDER CONDITIONAL PARDON. AN INTRODUCTORY SECTION DEFINES PARDON, PAROLE, AND PROBATION, AND REVIEWS THE HISTORY OF CLEMENCY, PAROLE, AND MANDATORY SUPERVISION IN TEXAS. OTHER CHAPTERS COVER THE STRUCTURE AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE AGENCY; PROCEDURES FOR SELECTING PAROLEES, SUPERVISION OF PAROLEES MANDATORY SUPERVISION, AND REVOCATION OF PAROLE; ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES OF EXECUTIVE CLEMENCY; AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE INTERSTATE PROBATION COMPACT.
