Abstract
Dollars collected from offenders making restitution to the victim compensation fund increased by 50 percent to more than $351,000, while subrogation brought in more than $365,000. The Crime Victims' Compensation Division installed a new menu-driven telephone system to provide more efficient communications. The approval rate for applications for compensation considered by the eligibility section was 74 percent. Claim processing time decreased from 107 days to 98 days. The division made 1,153,401 contacts in an active outreach and awareness initiative. It also provided training to 1,969 people in 42 sessions totaling 146 hours and handled 142,054 telephone calls from victims, victim advocates, and service providers. Figures, tables, and photographs
