RESULTS OF A SURVEY OF PERSONNEL AT THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS ATTEMPTING TO DETERMINE FACTORS AFFECTING THE HIGH TURNOVER RATE.
Abstract
ANALYSIS OF THE DATA COLLECTED BY MEANS OF QUESTIONNAIRES INDICATES THAT AGE, EDUCATION, AND LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT ACCOUNT FOR 30 PERCENT OF ALL SIGNIFICANT CORRELATION INDEXES. THE RESULTS INDICATE THAT TWO EMPLOYEE TYPES CAN BE DISTINGUISHED WITH RESPECT TO THE QUESTIONS SAMPLED IN CATEGORIES OF - (1) EMPLOYEES WHO ARE SATISFIED WITH THEIR JOBS, AND (2) EMPLOYEES WHO EXPRESS JOB DISSATISFACTION. NUMEROUS TABLES OF STATISTICAL DATA ARE PRESENTED ALONG WITH THE QUESTIONS APPEARING ON THE QUESTIONNAIRE. ( AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
