This report is intended to inform the general public in Texas, and the legislative and executive branches of State government, of the accomplishments of the judicial branch between September 1, 1988 and August 31, 1989.
Abstract
The chapter on the structure and operation of the judicial branch contains sections on judicial authority, appellate and trial courts, Texas judicial system appropriations, profiles and assignments of judges, and summaries and maps of the administrative judicial regions. This is followed by reports by the Texas Judicial Council, Office of Court Administration, and the State Bar of Texas. Summaries and analyses of activity in the Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeals, courts of appeals, district courts, county-level courts, juvenile courts, justice of the peace courts, municipal courts, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Center comprise the third chapter. The activity of district, county-level, and justice of the courts are presented in detail. Finally, the report includes separate judicial branch directories for each type of court.
