Abstract
Charts show the frequency with which juveniles in Texas who commit various types of crimes are referred to a juvenile probation department, and the scheme of juvenile movement through the juvenile justice system. Sections focus on education and employability, community service restitution, discipline and intensive supervision, and creativity and cultural enrichment. With each section, the activities of selected county departments are summarized. Despite increases in juvenile felony crime and substance abuse, these departments report an average probation success rate of 88 percent. Also provided in this report are organizational and financial information, juvenile justice statistics, program information, and a list of resources. Charts
