REPORT DEVELOPED FOR ADMINISTRATORS WITHIN THE TEXAS CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM WHO FUNCTION AS PLANNERS AT THE STATE, REGIONAL, COUNTY AND LOCAL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT.
Abstract
QUESTIONS POSED ARE, IN WHAT COUNTY OR GEOGRAPHICAL AREA DID THIS PARTICULAR FELON SAMPLE COMMIT ITS CRIMES, AND WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THESE INMATES IN TERMS OF SELECTED SOCIAL AND CRIMINAL HISTORY VARIABLES. THE UNIQUENESS OF THIS EFFORT IS DERIVED PRINCIPALLY FROM ITS ORIENTATION TOWARD IMPORTANT GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS AND ITS CONCENTRATION ON INMATES COMMITTED IN 1970. A CONTEMPORARY PROFILE OF THE INDIVIDUALS AND THE GROWING INTEREST IN IMPORTANT GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS WITHIN THE STATE IN TERMS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING IS PRESENTED.
