Abstract
The report summarizes the demographics, characteristics and behavior of the youth within the system. Ten tables summarize various measures and highlight changes from the previous year. A summary of new commitments by region and county are provided. Information summarized includes demographic characteristics of new 1993 commitments and of the total population; program population figures (number admitted, served, discharged, released, average daily population and average length of stay; population movements (from one facility to another); escapes from facilities; admissions to security units or detention facilities; significant educational gains; negative transfers (from lower to higher security); and recidivism rates.
