The difference between the mind and the brain is discussed with affirmation of the existence of the criminal mind.
Abstract
The controversy surrounding the postulation of the criminal mind is presented with case studies and references to the literature. Some characteristics of the criminal's mind which are discussed include: 1) excitement, 2) expensive habits, 3) ego-centric, 4) ability to ignore superego, 5) projection and rationalizations, and 6) power with fight to kill. Treatment, or psychotherapy, for the criminal mind is assessed as a very specialized task in mental health. 2 tables, 31 references.
