The proceedings of the Third Annual DNA Grantees’ Workshop, held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, June 24-26, 2002, are presented on this CD-ROM.
Abstract
The CD-ROM contains the 42 presentations, welcoming and opening remarks, and closing remarks and discussion that were heard at the 2002 DNA Grantees’ Workshop, which is sponsored by the National Institute of Justice. The presentations are grouped into 12 categories: Approaches to Differential Lysis, Mitochondrial DNA Technology, Analytical Tools to Enhance Current Methods, High-Speed Automation and Miniaturization, Non-Human DNA, Approaches to Y-Chromosome Analysis, Practitioner Roundtable Discussion, DNA Database Update, Crisis Response Lessons Learned, Technology Issues in Mass Causality Analysis, and NIJ Programs and Remarks. To help the viewer, the Index of the CD ROM offers a chronological viewing of the presentations, or the presentation notes may be viewed by speaker or presenter. Opening remarks were made by National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Director Sarah V. Hart, who welcomed the gathering of DNA Grantees to their third annual workshop. Next, a presentation by Lisa Forman, Director of the Investigative and Forensic Sciences Division of NIJ, provided participants with an understanding of NIJ’s mission. Closing remarks were also delivered by Lisa Forman. Each presentation is accompanied on the CD-ROM with a slide presentation.
