This article discusses the possibility of adapting the French alternative police scheme to Hungary.
Abstract
Social changes in Hungary have generated changes in human relations which have led to problems of crime and public disorder, including worsening public safety and traffic morale, increasing aggression, and an erosion of citizens' ability to protect themselves. Police crime prevention efforts are plagued by a lack of financial resources and a high personnel turnover. The author suggests that the implementation of an alternative police strategy could help resolve some of these issues.
