Abstract
OUTLINED IS THE RATIONALE OF VARIOUS PROCEDURES USED IN THE INVESTIGATION AND EVALUATION OF CLIENTS. THE STUDY FOCUSES ON TASKS BASED ON BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP OF TRUST AND COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE CLIENT AND THE PROBATION WORKER. THE STUDY RECOMMENDS THE USE OF PRELIMINARY EVALUATIONS AND OUTLINES SOME OF THE PROPER LIMITATIONS OF INQUIRY INTO THE PROBATIONER'S LIFE. --IN FRENCH
