During 1987, 24,124 inmates received their first parole from the California Department of Corrections (CDC).
Abstract
The total mean time served by felons, including preconfinement, was 23.6 months, while the median time served was 17.1 months. Violent offenders served the most preconfinement time and time in CDC facilities. There was a large difference in time served between males and females in this category only.
