IN THIS VIDEO TAPED TRAINING PROGRAM FOR FORENSIC PATHOLOGISTS, AUTOPSY TECHNIQUES ARE ILLUSTRATED FOR VICTIMS OF TRAUMATIC INJURIES, SPECIFICALLY DEATHS CAUSED BY ELECTROCUTION.
Abstract
THE BODIES OF ACCIDENTS, SUICIDE, AND MANSLAUGHTER VICTIMS ARE USED TO ILLUSTRATE THE EFFECT OF LOW, MEDIUM, AND HIGH INTENSITY ELECTRIC SHOCK ON THE HUMAN BODY, WITH ATTENTION TO INTEGRATING THE BIOLOGICAL DATA WITH PHYSICAL AND CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE TO DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED, WHY, AND WHETHER ACCIDENT, SUICIDE, OR HOMICIDE ARE INVOLVED. CASE STUDIES OF A SELECTION OF ELECTRIC SHOCK VICTIMS ARE PROVIDED, INCLUDING DEATH CAUSED BY APPLIANCES, POWER TOOLS, SIMPLE HOUSE CURRENT, LIGHTNING, SUBWAY TRACKS, AND A BOOBYTRAP SET TO DETER BURGLARS.
