This book provides a comprehensive design for codifying and applying current knowledge and research to the outpatient treatment of adolescent sex offenders.
Abstract
Intended for therapists and clinicians who are setting up community treatment programs, the book supplies a clearly formulated and structured treatment system in six discrete treatment modules: weekly adolescent sex offender group therapy, therapy and education group counseling for the parents of offenders, intensive probation supervision of the offender's family, weekly individual therapy for the sex offender, weekly family therapy, and aftercare. Each module is discussed in detail, including the different stages of treatment within each module. Intake and assessment issues are also discussed, along with special issues of concern to therapists. Appendixes include tested assessment forms, intake contracts, and therapeutic materials that can be used by the practitioner. 57 references.
