A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF CANADIAN TRAINING SCHOOL ADMISSIONS FOR THE YEARS 1967 TO 1975, IN WHICH IT WAS FOUND THAT ADMISSIONS DECREASED FROM 1971 TO 1975.
Abstract
DATA PRESENTED IN THIS REPORT CAME FROM TWO SOURCES: AN EARLIER REPORT DETAILING ADMISSIONS TRENDS FROM 1967 TO 1972, AND FROM THE CANADIAN JUVENILE INFORMATION SYSTEM. A SERIES OF TABLES ARE PRESENTED, WITH NARRATIVE ANALYSES OF THEIR CONTENTS. DATA IS PROVIDED ON THE CANADIAN ACT UNDER WHICH ADMISSION ORDERS WERE ISSUED, THE SEX OF THE WARD, CONTACT WITH THE CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY PRIOR TO FIRST TRAINING SCHOOL ADMISSION, AGE OF WARD AT FIRST ADMISSION, AND COUNTY IN WHICH THE COMMITTING COURT WAS LOCATED. THE DATA SHOWED A TREND IN DECREASING TRAINING SCHOOL ADMISSIONS WHICH BEGAN IN 1971 BUT BECAME ESTABLISHED AS A PATTERN IN 1973....DMC
