THE AUTHOR REFUTES A STATEMENT BY THE HOME SECRETARY OF ENGLAND THAT THE USE OF HOLLOW POINT AMMUNITION BY POLICE FORCES IN ENGLAND SHOULD NOT BE PERMITTED.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR CLAIMS THAT HOLLOW POINT AMMUNITION DOES NOT APPRECIABLY INCREASE THE PROBABILITY OF KILLING OR SERIOUSLY WOUNDING. HOLLOW POINT AMMUNITION, HE SAYS DECREASE THE RISK TO OFFICER AND PUBLIC BY PROVIDING GREATER AND MORE IMMEDIATE STOPPING POWER AND BY DECREASING THE PROBABILITY THAT THE BULLET WILL RICOCHET OR PASS THROUGH THE TARGET.
