EXAMINES FULLY THE PRINCIPLES INVOLVED IN UNDERCOVER WORK, THE INFORMANT, THE SUSPECT, AND THE UNDERCOVER AGENT.
Abstract
THIS BOOK EXPLAINS THE MOTIVATION BEHIND THE INFORMER, THE METHODS USED IN HIDING THE INFORMANT'S IDENTITY, HOW HE IS REWARDED, AND THE OVERALL HANDLING OF INFORMANTS. THE SUSPECT IS CLOSELY SCRUTINIZED FOR BACKGROUND, CAPABILITIES AND ASSOCIATES. THE UNDERCOVER AGENT, BROUGHT ALONG STEP-BY-STEP IN A LOGICAL SEQUENCE FOR HIS ASSIGNMENT, IS SHOWN THE FALLACIES CONNECTED WITH UNDERCOVER WORK AND HOW TO AVOID THE PITFALLS THAT LURK IN ALL DANGEROUS ASSIGNMENTS. QUESTIONS MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED BY POLICE OFFICERS IN TRAINING SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES ARE ANSWERED, AND PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN AT THE TIME OF ARREST OF THE SUSPECTS WHEN THE UNDERCOVER CASE REACHES ITS CONCLUSION ARE FULLY OUTLINED.
