Statistical data on substance abuse arrests in South Carolina for 1984 through 1988 are compiled.
Abstract
Five sections of statistical data are contained in the report. The first section presents arrest data by county, region, and State level for each major substance abuse arrest area. The second section displays arrest data as arrest rates per 10,000 population. The third section contains data on all drug arrests for possession, sale, and manufacture by county. The fourth section presents population data, arrests for all offenses, and comparisons of substance abuse arrests with all arrests for 1984 through 1987. The last section displays State totals for selected arrest categories. Persons are counted on arrest reports each time they are arrested or summoned. Thus, arrest counts do not reflect the specific number of different individuals arrested each year, since an individual may be arrested several times during a year for the same or different offenses.
