Abstract
THE AGENDA OF THE CONGRESS COMPRISED OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS - NEW FORMS OF JUVENILE DELINQUENCY, SPECIAL POLICE FOR DELINQUENCY PREVENTION, SHORT-TERM IMPRISONMENT, PRERELEASE TREATMENT AND AFTER CARE. ALSO COVERED WERE THE PREVENTION OF TYPES OF CRIMINALITY IN LESS DEVELOPED COUNTRIES RESULTING FROM SOCIAL CHANGES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND THE INTEGRATION OF PRISON LABOR WITH THE NATIONAL ECONOMY. DISCUSSIONS CENTERED AROUND REPORTS PREPARED BY THE UNITED NATIONS SECRETARIAT AND ON GENERAL REPORTS BY FIVE CONSULTANTS ENGAGED BY THE SECRETARIAT. THE APPENDIX TO THE REPORT CONTAINS THE CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS ADOPTED BY THE CONGRESS FOR EACH ITEM ON THE AGENDA. A LIST OF THE CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS IS ALSO PROVIDED BY COUNTRY.
