A DESCRIPTION OF THE ESTABLISHMENT, OBJECTIVES, STAFF, STRUCTURE, AND FINANCES OF THE INSTITUTE, WITH SUMMARIES OF COMPLETED AND CURRENT LAW REFORM PROJECTS CONDUCTED BY THE INSTITUTE.
Abstract
THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTE ARE TO CONDUCT AND DIRECT RESEARCH INTO LAW AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE, TO CONSIDER MATTERS OF LAW REFORM WITH A VIEW TO PROPOSING APPROPRIATE AUTHORITY MEANS BY WHICH THE LAW MAY BE MADE MORE USEFUL AND EFFECTIVE, AND TO PROMOTE LAW RESEARCH AND REFORM. SUBJECTS OF CURRENT LAW REFORM PROJECTS INCLUDE FAMILY LAW, CONFIDENTIALITY OF GOVERNMENT-HELD INFORMATION, AND INFANT'S CONTRACTS. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE THE LEGAL RESEARCH EFFORTS OF THE INSTITUTE AND ITS RELATIONS WITH OTHER LAW REFORM BODIES. SUMMARIES OF THE INSTITUTE'S TWELVE COMPLETED PROJECTS ARE APPENDED.
