RESULTS OF AN ANALYSIS UNDERTAKEN TO DETERMINE THE MOST APPROPRIATE ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION FOR THE SAN JOSE STATE COLLEGE'S ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE (AJ) PROGRAM WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY'S ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE.
Abstract
THE AUTHORS NOTE THAT SINCE 1970, PRESSURE HAS BEEN BUILDING WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY FOR A CHANGE IN THE AJ DEPARTMENT LOCATION. THE DATA FOR THIS REPORT WERE DERIVED FROM A SELECTED REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE, A CURRICULUM ANALYSIS, AND A FACULTY SURVEY. THE ANALYSIS OF DATA IS ESSENTIALLY DESCRIPTIVE AND COMPARATIVE. THE REPORT INCLUDES SECTIONS ON ASSUMPTIONS CONCERNING ORGANIZATION STRUCTURING THE HISTORIC DEVELOPMENT OF JUSTICE SYSTEM AND RELATED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, A COMPARISON OF SAN JOSE STATE WITH OTHER SCHOOLS, AN ANALYSIS OF THE EXISTING CURRICULUM, AND THE RESULTS OF THE FACULTY SURVEY.
