PAPER ILLUSTRATES HOW WEST GERMAN REVOLUTIONARY GROUPS HAVE DRAWN INSPIRATION FROM U.S. RADICALS AND TRIED TO APPLY IT TO EUROPE.
Abstract
THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE RISE OF THE STUDENT MOVEMENT DURING THE 1960'S AND 1970'S AS PART OF A WORLDWIDE PHENOMENON. THE U.S. STUDENT MOVEMENT HAS BEEN ESPECIALLY INSPIRATIONAL IN THIS REGARD. MANY EUROPEAN GROUPS, HOWEVER, HAVE CARRIED THIS PROTEST OVER INTO VIOLENCE AND TERROR AGAINST THE ESTABLISHED ORDER. TWO OF THESE GROUPS INCLUDE THE RED ARMY FACTION AND THE BAADER-MEINHOF ORGANIZATION THAT HAVE ROBBED BANKS AND ENGAGED IN TERRORIST ACTIVITY. THE INTERNATIONAL LINKS THESE GROUPS HAVE IS CITED.
