This monograph provides information to those planning and implementing drug testing programs on the capabilities of urine screening, how urine screening fits into an overall drug program, and how it can be used most reliably.
Abstract
The specific topics covered in the monograph include considerations in establishing a urinalysis program, selection of a laboratory, proficiency testing and quality control programs, specimen collection and handing, analytical methodology, accuracy issues, interpretation of urinalysis results, and implications of drug levels in body fluids. The final section provides examples of assays from specific drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamine and methamphetamine, opiates, phencyclidine, alcohol, lysergic acid diethylamide, methaqualone, barbiturates, and benzodiazepines.
