SEVERAL EXAMPLES OF THE DIFFICULT TYPES OF CASES HANDLED BY THE MONTANA K-9 CORPS ARE PROVIDED, AND THE FACILITIES AND TRAINING PROGRAM OF THE MONTANA SHERIFFS AND PEACE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION K-9 ACADEMY ARE DESCRIBED.
Abstract
AMONG THE TYPES OF CASES HANDLED BY THE DOGS ARE SEARCHES FOR MISSING PERSONS, SEARCHES FOR BODIES AFTER NATURAL DISASTERS, EVIDENCE SEARCHES, AND SEARCHES FOR MISSING PROPETY. THE AUTHOR STATES THAT THE K-9 CORPS HAS HAD AN EXCEPTIONAL RECORD IN THESE KINDS OF CASES. IT IS NOTED THAT THE MONTANA SHERIFFS AND PEACE OFFICER ASSOCIATION K-9 ACADEMY TRAINING IS OPEN TO ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, REGARDLESS OF THEIR PLACES OF RESIDENCE. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
