Abstract
Circuit court implementation was accomplished during the year with few problems. Extensive training for judges, clerical personnel, and local nonjudicial officials permitted a relatively smooth transition period. Judicial training programs have been expanded and improved. Trial court executives who perform specialized administrative functions are now working in three of the State's multijudge circuits. The State judicial information system is being developed under a LEAA discretionary grant. The project will be completed within three years. Utah's court system includes the State Supreme Court, district courts, justice of the peace courts, circuit courts, and juvenile courts. For each court, names of judges and statistics on filings and dispositions are presented. Tables also present comparisons with previous years. A description of the current state of the Utah judiciary and a history of Utah's judicial system are included.
