Annotation
A PHASE-RANGING TECHNIQUE IS DESCRIBED FOR AN AUTOMATED VEHICLE MONITORING SYSTEM THAT WOULD BE INEXPENSIVE, INDEPENDENT OF EXISTING RADIO AND NAVIGATION STATIONS, AND REASONABLY ACCURATE IN AN URBAN ENVIRONMENT.
Abstract
THE SYSTEM WOULD PROVIDE INFORMATION ON THE BEARING AND RANGE OF THE TRACKED VEHICLES. THE BEARING WOULD BE DERIVED BY THE ANALYSIS OF THE TIME LAPSE BETWEEN THE RECEPTION OF TWO RADIO SIGNALS, ONE OF WHICH IS EMITTED AT CONSTANT INTERVALS, THE OTHER OF WHICH IS EMITTED CONSTANTLY AND DIRECTIONALLY BY ROTATION.
