Abstract
The prefatory chapter defines torts, vicarious liability, personal liability, and their theoretical and policy bases. A related liability issue pertains to negligence. Subsequent chapters deal with specific situations in which the question of vicarious liability may arise between parties: employment, independent contractors, parents and children, schools, and child care. The final chapter discusses court cases and legislation related to indemnity and subrogation. 10 appendixes
