A DESCRIPTION OF THE CURRENT STATUS OF VICTIMOLOGICAL STUDIES IN JAPAN, OF WHICH LITTLE IS SAID TO BE AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH TRANSLATION.
Abstract
GROUPS ENGAGED IN VICTIMOLOGICAL RESEARCH ARE IDENTIFIED AND DESCRIBED, AND RESULTS OF SEVERAL MAJOR STUDIES ARE SUMMARIZED. IT IS ASSERTED THAT VICTIMS ROLES IN RAPE CASES IN JAPAN DIFFER FROM THEIR AMERICAN COUNTERPARTS, DUE TO RADICALLY DIFFERENT BEHAVIOR PATTERNS BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN. SEVERAL CONCLUSIONS ARE DRAWN FROM THESE STUDIES.
