Abstract
General criminology/victimology research addresses general victimological issues and victimology statements. These works have covered victimology issues in Austria, the meaning of victimology for criminal justice, the victim-offender interaction in robbery-murder, the victimological aspects of a random sample of criminal cases, victim crime reporting, child abuse, and family violence. Research that pertains to victims and criminal proceedings has addressed victim expectations in crime reporting, the influence of insurance contracts on property-crime reporting, and victims' involvement in criminal proceedings. Research on victims and compensation covers procedures for conflict settlement. The research has addressed community mediation, mediation as an alternative to criminal proceedings, diversion programs, victims' damages and suffering, and victim access to the law. Research on victims and crime prevention has focused on measures that potential victims can take to reduce the risk of being victimized. 48 references
