Abstract
A SURVEY OF THE CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) AND THE ECONOMICS OF VIDEO SURVEILLANCE ARE FIRST GIVEN. AFTER CONSIDERATION OF CAMERA HOUSINGS AND CAMERA DRIVES, THE TELEVISION SIGNAL IS DISCUSSED. CHAPTER 5 GIVES BASIC FACTS ABOUT TRANSMISSION LINES, TERMINATIONS, COAXIAL CABLE ATTENUATION, AND CCTV TRANSMISSION CABLE. CHAPTER 6 COVERS THE STANDARD VIDICON TUBE, NIGHT-VIEWING CAMERAS, MONITORS, AND VIDEO TAPE RECORDING. ALSO INCLUDED IS INFORMATION ON LENSES, VIDEO SWITCHING, AND CONTROL OF ACCESSORY EQUIPMENT. CHAPTER 10 COVERS SIGNAL PROCESSING, SPECIAL EFFECTS, AND COLOR, AND CHAPTER 11 DISCUSSES VARIOUS ALARM SYSTEMS.
