Abstract
THE STUDY EXAMINES THE NATURE OF CERTAIN KINDS OF VIOLENT CRIME THAT ARE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE PRESENT ERA: POLITICAL ASSASSINATION, INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM, AIR PIRACY, HOSTAGE-TAKING IN PRISONS, HOSTAGE-TAKING DURING BANK ROBBERY, EXTORTION WITH AND WITHOUT HOSTAGES, AND KIDNAPPING. DISCUSSED ARE TRENDS IN PREVENTING AND DETERRING THESE KINDS OF VIOLENT CRIME. --IN GERMAN
