Data for the report were obtained from two sources: the State's Criminal Justice Research Center, and Crime In The United States, a report published by the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation. The data indicates that overall, crime rates in the State of Virginia have declined significantly, along with those for the country as a whole. Tables, figures, and appendixes
