THIS RECORDS SYSTEM EVALUATION, DATED FEBRUARY 1977, WAS PERFORMED FOR THE VIRGINIA CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES COMMISSION.
Abstract
THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED TO ASSESS THE COMMISSION'S NEEDS FOR RESPONDING TO INCREASED RESPONSIBILITIES IN MAINTAINING TRAINING RECORDS FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS. A MANUAL FILE SYSTEM IS CURRENTLY BEING USED TO MAINTAIN MORE THAN 28,000 CARDS COVERING THE TRAINING STATUS OF INDIVIDUALS. THE CONSULTANT CONCLUDED FROM HIS EVALUATION THAT COMPUTERIZATION OF THE COMMISSION'S RECORDS SYSTEM IS THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE THAT WILL ALLEVIATE THE IMMEDIATE PROBLEMS AND ALLOW FOR FUTURE FLEXIBILITY.
