In 1982 in Virginia, there were 112,474 traffic crashes in which 881 persons received fatal injuries and 59,657 persons received nonfatal injuries. Total crashes decreased 4.67 percent, while fatal crashes decreased 12.94 percent.
Abstract
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation made 1,658 arrests, and the Virginia Criminal Information Network handled approximately 17,549,126 transactions during the year. The report also discusses approval of safety devices, enforcement, finances, motor carrier safety, motor vehicle inspection, and personnel matters. Tables are included.
