AN EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM INTENDED TO IMPROVE JAIL INMATES' NUTRITIONAL INTAKE AND TO REDUCE ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOR IS FORMULATED.
Abstract
RESEARCH FOR THIS STUDY INCLUDED A REVIEW OF AVAILABLE LITERATURE, A SURVEY OF LEADING NUTRITION RESEARCHERS AND PRACTITIONERS (RESULTS OF WHICH ARE SUMMARIZED), AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF TESTING ON NON-INMATE SUBJECTS. THIS REPORT DISCUSSES INFORMATION PERTINENT TO DEVELOPMENT OF BEHAVIOR-ORIENTED DIETS, SUCH AS TYPES AND DOSAGES OF VITAMIN-MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS TO USE, TIMING OF DOSAGES, TESTING ON NON-INMATE SUBJECTS, POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS, AND LABORATORY TEST SCREENING PROCEDURES. THE DIET OUTLINED HERE IS DESIGNED FOR AT LEAST A TEN-MONTH TEST PERIOD AND HAS BEEN SPECIFICALLY FORMULATED TO REDUCE THE ANTISOCIAL EFFECTS OF HYPOGLYCEMIA (LOW BLOOD SUGAR) AND TO PROVIDE OPTIMAL NUTRITION THROUGH THE ADMINISTRATION OF A THERAPEUTIC STRENGTH VITAMIN SUPPLEMENT AND A ZINC-MANGANESE MINERAL SUPPLEMENT.
