Abstract
INTRODUCTORY MATERIAL BRIEFLY DISCUSSES THE RATIONALE, OBJECTIVES, AND CONTENT OF PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO TRAIN VOLUNTEERS TO WORK WITH OFFENDERS. THE FOLLOWING CHAPTERS INDICATE INSTANCES DURING WHICH TRAINING IS POSSIBLE. THESE INCLUDE FORMAL PRE-ASSIGNMENT, INFORMAL, INSERVICE, AND TAKE HOME TRAINING. METHODS OF TRAINING INCLUDE AUDIO AND VIDEO TAPES, LECTURES, AND ROLE PLAYING. CONCLUDING SECTIONS FOCUS ON RESOURCES AND FEEDBACK.
