In this instructional video – one in a series of training videos on stalking sponsored by the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC) – an attorney provides advice on ways investigators and prosecutors can better cooperate in the management of stalking cases.
This instructional advice is provided by Jane Anderson, Attorney Advisor for AEquitas, a nonprofit organization with the mission of improving access to and quality of justice in gender-based violence and human trafficking cases. She focuses on how prosecutors can assist investigators in the efficient collection of evidence in stalking cases. She suggests that prosecutors advise investigators on cost-effective ways to obtain evidence of stalking perpetrated through online social media, emails, or cell phones. Prosecutors can thus advise investigators on the legal standards that apply in obtaining various types of evidence of a stalking offense.
