Abstract
PROGRAMS EVALUATED INCLUDE: THE DIAGNOSTIC AND CLASSIFICATION UNIT AT THE HUTTONSVILLE CORRECTIONAL CENTER; INMATE TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT THE HUTTONSVILLE CORRECTIONAL CENTER, WEST VIRGINIA PENITENTIARY, AND WEST VIRGINIA PRISON FOR WOMEN; EXPANSION OF PROGRAM SERVICES AT THE PRUNTYTOWN INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL FOR BOYS, THE SALEM INDUSTRIAL HOME FOR GIRLS, AND THE DAVIS FORESTRY CAMP FOR BOYS; AN IMPROVED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AT THE LECKIE FORESTRY CAMP FOR BOYS; ESTABLISHMENT OF A CORRECTIONAL CENTER AT THE ANTHONY CORRECTIONAL CENTER IN NEOLA; A STATEWIDE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAM; A FACILITY-NEEDS STUDY FOR SPECIAL OFFENDERS; EXPANSION AND IMPROVEMENT OF PAROLE SERVICES; RESIDENTIAL AND WORK-RELEASE CENTERS; AND CORRECTIONAL STAFF TRAINING. EVALUATION ON THE PLANNING AND RESEARCH PROGRAM WAS NOT COMPLETE AT TIME OF PUBLICATION AND WILL BE ISSUED AS A SUPPLEMENTAL VOLUME. EACH EVALUATION CONSISTS OF A LIST OF PROGRAM OBJECTIVES, EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE THESE OBJECTIVES, AND A SUMMARY OF WHICH OBJECTIVES WERE MET AND WHICH WERE NOT.
