Directed to persons who are concerned that their child might be kidnapped or whose child has been kidnapped by a former spouse or other family member, this manual provides suggestions for preventing a kidnapping and taking action to ensure that the child is safely returned.
Abstract
Much of the material focuses on children who have been taken out of the United States, but most is also applicable to cases in which the child remains in the country. Readers are advised to hire an attorney who is an expert in matrimonial law and who has experience in this area of law. Individual chapters list items such as recent photographs of the child that parents should have at two different locations, describes actions to take if marital problems exist, actions to take with the child and in court to prevent a kidnapping, and actions to take if the child is missing or may have been kidnapped.
