A FILM WHICH ATTEMPTS TO DEFINE THE ROLE OF THE POLICEMAN FOR THE PUBLIC AND THE NEW RECRUIT THROUGH THE DRAMATIZATION OF A WIDE VARIETY OF POLICE ACTIVITES.
Abstract
PATROL ACTIVITIES, THE DANGERS INHERENT IN POLICE DUTIES, THE DECISIONS THAT MUST BE FACED BY POLICE, AND THE ATTITUDES OF THE PUBLIC CONCERNING POLICE ARE EXPLORED. PUBLIC OPINIONS, BOTH FAVORABLE AND UNFAVORABLE, ARE CONTRASTED WITH ACTUAL POLICING SITUATIONS IN WHICH THE PROFESSIONAL, HELPING ROLE OF THE POLICE IS EMPHASIZED. AMONG THE POLICE ACTIVITIES PORTRAYED IN THE FILM ARE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION, ARRESTS, SUICIDE PREVENTION, MURDER SCENE ACTIVITIES, AND INVESTIGATION, CRISIS INTERVENTION SITUATIONS, AND POLICE TRAINING.
