Abstract
The booklet explains what being a witness and giving testimony means and stresses the importance of telling the truth. Information is also provided on the courtroom and such personnel as the judge, jurors, advocates, the prosecuting attorney, the defense attorney, the court clerk, and the bailiff. In addition, explanatory information is included on what it means to take an oath, court rules and questioning procedures, evidence, the witness stand, and what it means when a defendant is found guilty. Definitions of terms used throughout the booklet are listed.
