Crime problems in Japan in 1982 include juvenile delinquency, drug abuse, traffic violations, espionage, and terrorism.
Abstract
Stranger-to-stranger assaults and computer crime have appeared as new problems. Other major problems are internal struggles within crime syndicates, espionage from North Korea, and gangs of reckless drivers. Separate chapters describe juvenile prevention programs, police-community relations activities, public safety concerns, drug control activities, gun control measures, and environmental concerns. Disaster relief plans, crowd control measures, police personnel data, and police expenditures are noted. Tables and graphs present crime and police statistics.
