THIS APPLICATION EVALUATION REPORT (AER) DEALS WITH THE LAW ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM (LES) MODULE OPERATING IN THE WICHITA FALLS (TX) POLICE DEPARTMENT.
Abstract
THE LES IS AN OPERATIONAL COMPONENT OF THE INTEGRATED MUNICIPAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (IMIS) DESIGNED TO SERVE CITIES FROM 50,000 TO 500,000 POPULATION. LES IS A HIGHLY AUTOMATED COMPUTER BASED POLICE INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM. THE IMIS PROJECT IS SPONSORED BY THE URBAN SYSTEMS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (USAC), A CONSORTIUM OF TEN FEDERAL AGENCIES. THIS AER PRESENTS A FINAL ANALYSIS OF SYSTEM IMPACT ON POLICE PROCEDURES, MANPOWER REQUIREMENTS, DIRECT LABOR COSTS AND OUTPUT UTILIZATION, AND THE NET CHANGES WHICH HAVE OCCURRED IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS A RESULT OF LES IMPLEMENTATION. THE AER CONTAINS A DESCRIPTION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, A SYSTEM OVERVIEW SUMMARIZING LES, AN ANALYSIS OF LES IMPACT AND SEVERAL APPENDICES, INCLUDING INPUT DOCUMENTATION AND POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGETS....MSP
