REPORT OFFERS SUGGESTIONS FOR SEDGWICK COUNTY JUVENILE COURT PRIOR TO ITS BEING ABSORBED INTO A NEW COUNTY DISTRICT COURT.
Abstract
JUDICIAL MANPOWER UNDER THE NEW DISTRICT COURT WILL REQUIRE THE HIRING OF JUDGES PRO TEM TO COMPLEMENT THE SINGLE JUDGE WHO NOW PRESIDES OVER JUVENILE MATTERS. THIS IS ONE OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS THE REPORT MAKES. OTHER AREAS IN WHICH RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE INCLUDE REPRESENTATION BY COUNSEL, PAYMENT OF JUDGES PRO TEM AND ATTORNEYS, AND COURT PROCEEDINGS. RECOMMENDATIONS ON COURT PROCEEDINGS ARE DIVIDED INTO ADJUDICATORY AND DISPOSITIONAL HEARINGS, AND PRESENTATION OF PROBATION OFFICER REPORT.
