Abstract
DISCUSSED ARE THE BOSTON VOLUNTEER COURT WATCHING PROGRAM, WHICH RECORDS AND REPORTS ON VIOLATIONS OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND JUDICIAL PROCEDURE; THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND, CITIZEN MOVEMENT FOR JUVENILE JUSTICE REFORM; AND A DORCHESTER, MASSACHUSETTS, COURT-COMMUNITY RELATIONS PROGRAM THAT USES NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS BOTH AS VICTIM ADVOCATES AND ON SPECIAL COURT-APPROVED PANELS TO ADVISE LOCAL JUDGES ON THE SENTENCING OF CRIMINAL OFFENDERS.
