REPORT CONTAINS RESULTS AND DISCUSSION OF ATTEMPTS TO IMPLEMENT CITIZENS STUDY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS ON JUDICIAL ORGANIZATION.
Abstract
ONE RECOMMENDATION MADE TO THE SUPREME COURT WAS THAT THE STATE BE DIVIDED INTO ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICTS. THERE WAS ALSO A RECOMMENDATION THAT A COURT ADMINISTRATOR BE OBTAINED FOR THE EAU CLAIRE AREA THAT CONSISTS OF FOUR COUNTIES COVERING NUMEROUS JUDGESHIPS. THE STUDY PROPOSED THAT THE STATE SUPREME COURT RESOLVE WHETHER THE ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE OF THE STATE COURTS SHOULD BE: A) CENTRALIZED AT THE STATE LEVEL WITH DEPUTY STATE ADMINISTRATORS ASSIGNED TO WORK IN VARIOUS DISTRICTS OR COUNTIES; OR B) DECENTRALIZED WITH THE STATE COURT ADMINISTRATOR ACTING OF BEHALF OF THE SUPREME COURT AND EXERCISING ON GENERAL SUPERVISION OVER THE TRIAL COURTS THROUGH JUDGES WHO WOULD HAVE THEIR OWN ADMINISTRATORS....BS EAU CLAIRE COUNTY
