THIS DESCRIPTIVE REPORT PRESENTS DATA ON ADULT OFFENDERS FIRST AND RE-ADMITTED TO WISCONSIN ADULT CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS DURING CALENDAR YEAR 1973, WITH FIVE-YEAR COMPARISONS OF SELECTED CHARACTERISTICS OF ADMISSIONS.
Abstract
AMONG THE CHARACTERISTICS REPORTED IN THE FIVE-YEAR COMPARISON DATA ARE AGE, SENTENCE, GRADE COMPLETED, AND GRADE BY ACHIEVEMENT TEST. ALSO REPORTED ARE THE PERCENT COMMITTED AS FELONS, THE PERCENT ADMITTED AS JUVENILE COMMITMENTS, THE PERCENT NON-WHITES, AND THE PERCENT WITHOUT PRIOR CORRECTIONAL RECORDS. DATA FOR CALENDAR YEAR 1973 INCLUDES INFORMATION ON TYPE OF COMMITMENT, ADMISSION STATUS, AGE, OFFENSE, COUNTY OF CONVICTION, LENGTH OF SENTENCE, RACE, INTELLIGENCE, CRIMINAL HISTORY, AND EDUCATION FOR PERSONS ADMITTED TO ADULT CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS.
