IN VIEW OF THE EXISTENCE OF UNPREDICTABLE FACTORS, FRAGMENTS OF DYED BLACK OR NAVY BLUE WOOL FIBRES CAN ONLY BE USED IN EVIDENCE WITH CLEARLY-STATED RESERVATIONS AND ONLY PROVIDING THAT IT BE CLEARLY ESTABLISHED A PRIORI THAT THE SUSPECT ITEM OF CLOTHING CONTAINS NO 'RE-USED WOOL' AND THAT THE DYEING TECHNIQUE IS IMPECCABLE - WHICH IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO BE THE CASE WITH BLACK DYES.
