This publication is designed to assist individuals and organizations concerned about young people to focus their concerns and translate those concerns into action.
Abstract
Rather than making specific recommendations for programs, the publication provides guidance to help identify the specific concerns, assets and priorities of the community. It describes an ongoing process of change that involves three critical tasks: gathering information about the problems and strengths of the youth in the community; creating a clear vision of the future desired; and taking action to achieve that vision. The first part of the guide focuses on how an individual can identify concerns and get involved. Part two gives guidance on getting the support of others on either a small or a large scale. A list of resources and programs is provided at the end of this publication.
